Mrs. Chavez's 1st graders play a math fluency game called Knock Off the Clock.  In this game, students roll a pair of dice to create an addition or subtraction sentence to "knock" a number off their clock.  The 1st player to get all 12 numbers off the clock wins.

Students in Mrs. Wayman's room 3 and Mrs. Decano's room 4 used a bridge map to understand how numbers related to objects.  Students were able to practice their numbers and relate them to the stickers they put on their page.  

Following the activity, the students were able to partner with other students and talk off their map.

3rd graders in Mr. Ebeling's class use their math skills to create a scary creature.  Each time students answer a math problem they add another feature to their creature.  This day, the creature turned out to be a spider.

Students in Mrs. Simon's room 27 were able to look at a whole pumpkin and break it down into several parts to create a Brace Map.  Students then went around the room to read off their maps to their peers.  The following day they were able to write a small paragraph from the map.

In room 9, students demonstrate their math skills during a 3 ACT math task.  Students collaborate in teams to solve a real-world math problem.  Using presentation skills, students were able to explain the different ways to solving the same problem.
